“Beetle Fieldwork"

Dr. Staines comes to us from the University of Maryland, the United States Department of Agriculture and Maryland Department of Agriculture, and Smithsonian Environmental Research Center.  Dr. Staines studies the Chrysomelidae or leaf-beetles. He has published over 200 scientific articles on the taxonomy and biology of this large family.  Dr. Staines has generously offered to let YEG join him where he conducts his beetle fieldwork.  We will check the traps, learn more about beetles and I'm sure we will see a variety of native and invasive species.
